Got Ugly Toenail Fungus? We Have the Best Solution: The PinPointe™ FootLaser®

Have you taken to hiding your toes because of unsightly nail fungus? Have you tried oral medications, sprays, and ointments, only to have the fungus return time and again? We’re happy to tell you there is a solution, and we offer it here at Ankle & Foot Associates, LLC.

Our team of podiatric experts prides themselves on offering our patients the latest technologies to help keep their feet in the pink of health. When toenail fungus strikes, it can mean months, and even years, of unrewarding effort, but not with our Pinpointe™ FootLaser® system.

Here’s how we can help resolve your toenail fungus, giving you toes you’re proud to display.

Behind the fungus

Toenail fungus, which is medically known as onychomycosis, is a fungal infection that largely affects your feet and is the same infection that leads to athlete's foot. The fungal infection isn’t typically medically serious, but it can wreak havoc on your toenails, causing them to yellow, crumble, distort, and eventually pull away from your nail bed.

Most people pick up the infection in warm and damp environments, which is where the fungus thrives. Places like locker rooms and public swimming pools are hotbeds for the fungus that leads to toenail problems.

The problem with treating the fungus is that it can be extremely tough to get rid of, especially if it makes its way into the cell matrix of your nails. This means that solutions like anti-fungal sprays or oral medications can be ineffective in fully eradicating the infection.

Enter laser technology

As we watched our patients struggle with toenail fungus, we researched the various treatment options and settled on the PinPointe FootLaser system. This system is cleared by the FDA for the temporary increase of clear nail in patients with onychomycosis, which we’ve witnessed among our patients.

With PinPointe FootLaser, we send short pulses of laser energy into your infected nails to destroy the fungus. The treatment is completely painless and usually takes us about 30 minutes to complete.

After your treatment, you’ll need to be patient as your toes grow in healthier, fungus-free nails, but we’re sure you’re going to be thrilled with the results.

We also recommend that you take care to avoid reinfection after your PinPointe FootLaser treatment by:

Above all, make sure to protect your feet against the fungus by keeping them dry, clean, and well-protected. (Wear flip-flops around pools and in public showers and locker rooms, for example.)

If you’re tired of battling toenail fungus, to no avail, contact one of our 12 locations in southern Georgia and South Carolina to learn how PinPointe FootLaser can help you declare victory, once and for all.
